Eight Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen stills were just released, all of which you can check out in the gallery below (click each one for a much bigger look).
Only two are of Megan Fox, but we also get out first look at Isabel Lucas’s characer, “Alice.” We surmised earlier this year that Alice is probably an evil Decepticon Pretender, and the photo doesn’t even seem to want to hide that: she looks so obviously evil it’s almost laughable.
Other than the girls, we’ve got Bumblebee and Optimus in vehicle form, the introduction of Sam’s friend Leo (Ramon Rodriguez), and the return of Jon Turturro and Tyrese Gibson. Without further ado…
The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen full trailer was just released, and aside from being pretty awesome in its own right, it also includes this criminally hot shot of Megan Fox you see. Of course, there are also pyramids, explosions, and giant battling robots…which are almost, but not quite, as good. Check it out…
We still don’t have much in the way of a traditional one-sheet final poster yet, but the new standee art that was just released is even better. Expect to start seeing Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Sam, and Mikaela hanging out in movie theaters around the country soon…
Michael Bay popped up on Twitter the other day with links to new Revenge of the Fallen set pics on MichaelBay.com.
Since he came bearing gifts, everybody assumed he was legit, but then the real Michael Bay revealed the Twitter account (now disabled) to be an impostor by posting the following message on his forums:
Twitter. Never. What a waste of time.
M
Anybody want to place bets on whether or not he’ll stick with “never” as Twitter increases in popularity over the next year?
Anyway, it doesn’t really matter, you really came for the photos. And the photos we will provide:
The publicity machine keeps ramping up for Revenge of the Fallen, and the latest step is getting Ms. Fox to grace the cover of Empire Magazine, which you can check out below…
Paramount recently announced via Variety that a third Transformers movie would come out on July 1st, 2011, maintaining the two-year break between films. Awesome, right?
Not exactly. Following the news break, Michael Bay posted a retraction of sorts on his own website:
Paramount made a mistake in dating Transformers 3 - they asked me on the phone - I said yes to July 4[th weekend] - but for 2012 - whoops! Not 2011!!! That would mean I would have to start prep in September. No way. My brain needs a break from fighting robots.
Three things may result from this bit of news. From least likely to most likely:
1. Paramount fires Bay and finds someone else to release the movie in 2011.
2. Paramount offers Michael Bay a staggering amount of money to get it in theaters by 2011, and he accepts, because let’s face it, he’s a hack and everybody likes money.
3. Paramount lets Bay push the release date back a year, because he’s made them obscene amounts of money and he can do what he wants.
Ironically, the least likely among those (#1) is probably the most cost-effective. Get a lesser-known director and pay him a tiny percentage of Bay’s asking fee, and secure a surefire 2011 hit.
Would fans be mad? What a strange world that would be, when fanboys get mad about Michael Bay leaving a franchise.
The Transformers team is working overtime to make sure all the special effects are completed for the summer release of Revenge of the Fallen, and let’s be honest: this new trailer simply stitches together the random shots in which the effects work has actually been finished. Does that make it any less awesome? Hell no.
We’ve hinted before that Revenge of the Fallen will contain the Devastator — a gigantic Transformer made from the combined already-gigantic Constructicons. Thanks to a Japanese company releasing the box art from toys not yet released, we’ve got a pretty good look at him:
You probably already saw the brand new Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen teaser during the Super Bowl and it was definitely worth the wait. One thing for sure is that the Decepticons are not happy with Sam and the Autobots. It seems they are really going to kick some ass and cause all kinds of madness.
Everyone seems to be wondering who or what that big giant wheel is towards the end (update: find out what it is here). Can it be Devastator or just one of the constructicons? What do you guys think?

It’s been confirmed that the first ad for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will debut during the Super Bowl on February 1st. Depending on who you talk to, we still might have to wait until Star Trek is released in May to get a full-length trailer, but the Super Bowl spot will be the first finished footage the public is able to see from the film, and will probably subsequently play as a teaser trailer in theaters over the next couple of months.
Variety reports that a number of other movies will also advertise during the Super Bowl, including X-Men Origins: Wolverine, G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, Land of the Lost, Angels & Demons, Fast and Furious, and Star Trek.
By the way, if you couldn’t tell, that’s a fan-made poster to the right, but it sure is nice anyway.
